Location
How to get here
Te Marua Speedway, State Highway 2, just north of Upper Hutt.
From Wellington
For locals new to Speedway in the Capital, or those travelling up from the Mainland, the track is on State Highway 2 about five minutes North of Upper Hutt, just after the Te Marua Golf Course.
From Wairarapa
If your travelling South from Hawkes bay or the Wairarapa, the track is on the right hand side, a little south of the Rimutaka Hills. You’ll actually see it on the right just past the Twin Lakes reservoirs.
From Kapiti Coast
Those travelling south from Kapiti Coast, Taranaki, Waikato and Auckland just follow the main routes down towards Wellington and hang a left on to SH2 at the bottom of Ngauranga Gorge. Follow the highway north straight through, past Upper Hutt to Te Marua.
If you don’t go past the Rimutaka Tavern and Caltex petrol Station on the left, you haven’t gone far enough. It’s about five Minutes drive past there. If, however, you hit the Rimutaka Hills and find yourself 800 metres above sea level, you’ve gone too far. Good luck turning around!
There are alternate routes both through Waikanae and Pauatahanui / Haywards, but if you’re new to the area, best to stick to the main routes or you may still be looking for the track on Sunday!
If you do get a little lost, just ask the locals.
We love having visitors, so come down or up, wear your local colours and get a taste of some capital motorsport entertainment!
