The meeting was postponed and I have online tickets?

If you have an online ticket and the weather wins before 5 races are run your ticket will be valid for the next available meeting. If you are unable to attend this meeting please contact info@wellingtonspeedway.co.nz

What is the weather like and will the meeting be cancelled?

The Max Motors Wellington Family Speedway are very active on social media. All meeting information and updates will be publicised on our facebook page as soon as it comes to light. This means that if there is any kind of weather or postponements that is the place to check. If there hasnt been a post, there is no update. This is also a great place to keep up with weather updates on the day, live videos from the pits and results! The voulinteers appreciate you not messaging us asking if it is cancelled, this ties up the team with responding and means we get behind in our duties to get racing out.

Is there a live stream?

We do not have any live stream planned for this season. Please be careful as there are many scammers on facebook trying to sell live streams to our events. If its not posted by our Wellington Speedway facebook page then it is not real.

Can I listen in to the commentary?

Yes you sure can! Tune in on your FM radio at the track to 88.1 FM

Its my birthday can I get a shout out?

Yes! We love sharing your birthday with you. Pop up to the race control in turn 1 and let the team know who your shout out is or message our facebook page!

Can I look at the cars in the pits?

Yes you can but be careful. We operate an open pits, but it is an area where race cars are moving about. There are multiple hazards and care must be taken at all times, children are welcome when accompanied by an adult. Drivers welcome their fans coming to visit and say Hi! If your really luck you might even get a photo in one of the cars...

Who are your full time staff?

We dont have any... Our track and events are run by the club which has a voulinteer committee. If you would like to speak to one of our team please email us on info@wellingtonspeedway.co.nz

I want to get in to racing but not sure how to start?

Getting into racing will be one of the most exciting thing you can ever do. The first place to start is by choosing a class you would like to race in. We would recommend talking to some of the drivers in the pits once you have about the ins and outs (they would love to talk to you!) and then it comes to purchasing. If you arent confident in approaching a driver you are welcome to speak to the club on info@wellingtonspeedway.co.nz and we can help point you in the right direction.

What are your COVID protocols?

COVID Jabs: Fans - All fans over the age of 12 years 3 months entering the venue will be required to show their CVC (Covid Passport) that they have had two jabs, this unfortunately is the minimum standard that is being enforced on us. We don’t have further detail yet but at this stage around exemptions (details to be provided later in the week) but at this stage there are no exceptions to this rule. Your COVID CVC passport will be checked prior to entry by security & Police. Staff & Drivers - As per the frame work staff and drivers must provide proof of their first COVID jab before entering between now and the 17th of January. After this time a full CVC is also required. Negative Test – Does not replace proof of Jab and holds no weight with those inspecting If we (as a club) admit a single patron that does not have the above proof we are liable for a $15,000 fine (which would potentially mean no more Speedway) so we appreciate your full support with this. Travelling drivers: Drivers from any area may travel here even from tracks that are in Red Light Zones. We already have a large list of out of towners coming so it's going to be an epic night. If you are a driver interested in joining us from another track jump on our website and register to race www.wellingtonspeedway.co.nz/classes Vendors: Back to normal this week! You can have a hotdog, Malaysian or Doughnuts at your seat again yahew! Thanks to all those who put up with the horrible way we had to do it before, wasn't fun but you gotta do what you gotta do. Masks: Recommended but not mandatory, its ideal if we look to be putting a good foot forward if we can and helping make those around us feel safe. Social Distancing: Not required Our volunteers are working very hard in the background with Speedway New Zealand and Sport New Zealand to bring you this Speedway Meeting (and hopefully more!) but really need everyone's co-operation and support to ensure we stay within all the set guidelines. Be kind to our staff and security if they ask you to do something we are all just trying to get the cars back on the dirt
