Superstocks are the headline act of full-contact motor racing, and the drivers who wheel them are among the boldest in New Zealand motorsport. Each machine is 1500kg of fully reinforced, high-performance steel, with build costs running anywhere from $20,000 to $150,000.
With up to 500hp underfoot, bumper-to-bumper action is on the cards at almost every corner. Some cars are set up for outright speed, others to hand out punishment — and when the two meet, the results can be explosive.
